市民の森・Shiminnomori

February 24th

Start&Finish: Shiminnomori Car Park, or there is parking in the Peace Museum nearby.

The weather: High 9 Low -4. Beautiful and sunny, but cool in the trees.

Outfit/Equipment: Jeans, heat tech, hoody, hat, gloves, hiking shoes.

Map: We just wandered round the shiminnomori, then crossed the road over to the Peace Museam.

Crowds: A few people here and there.

Time: 1:30 to 3:30pm

Difficulty: 11,0902 steps.

Even though today was a national holiday, I had to spend the morning working; this is Japan after all! There was enough time for a little stroll in the afternoon though so we decided to wander round the shiminomori, up past Takasaka, just to get a bit of fresh air.

It’s a very pleasant area with plenty of trees, and other points of interest to head towards like a nearby shrine or the Peace Museum to add a bit of interest. Perfect for a picnic or a solo walk.
